How to Include Your Pup in Holiday Festivities

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season can sometimes make it easy to forget to include your furry friends in all the activities. With family and friends filling your home, your pup may start to feel left out, but he doesn’t have to. There are many ways to include your pet in the holidays and keep them happy.

Family Photos Plus One

For most people, their pet is a part of their family, so it is only fitting to include them in the holiday card. If he won’t corporate for a photo session, consider stamping his paw print on the card when you sign it.

Get Him a Stocking

Dogs may not be able to eat chocolate and candy canes, but they can still enjoy a stocking filled with pup-friendly goodies. Fill it with Vita Bone Artisan Inspired Biscuits, toys, a new collar and other fun items to include your dog in present opening.

Christmas Light Trips

Is it tradition for your family to drive around and look at Christmas lights? Consider taking your dog with you so he can join the fun too. If your dog doesn’t like the car, consider taking him for a short walk around the neighborhood to look at the lights. Just make sure he doesn’t get too cold!

Include Him in Travel

The holiday season also brings lots of travel. If you are heading out for a trip, bring your pup with you. Taking him along will make him feel even more like a part of the family and will save you from having to pay a dog sitter.

Play in the Snow

If you are in an area with a white Christmas, take your dog out to play in the snow. He will love to run through the snow piles, and it will help him burn off excess energy. Just remember not to stay out too long because your pup may get too cold.

At the end of the day, the most important part of the holiday season is spending time with loved ones, including your pup. Keep these pointers in mind, and be sure to have a happy and healthy holiday with the whole family.
